CLEAR example of media BIAS? How could Gary Sheffield get away with that RACIST remark?

If it was a white guy who had said ';Hispanics are easier to control';, would the media have responded differently?





Why did one reporter excuse him by saying that it was ';ok for Gary Sheffield to make that remark, because hes always been known to spout off at the mouth and besides, theres a little bit of truth to it anyway';.





If that was the case, then Imus should have gotten away with his remark because hes always been known to spout off at the mouth.





Where are all the Hispanics out there? Why aren't you rising up and tryint to get Gary Sheffield fired or suspended?

There is a mispersepction in the media and our society when it comes to racist remarks. Al Shaprton got rid of Imus but then turns around and makes a derogatory remark about Mormons. then he says we are trying to make him look bad. Think of John Rocker - who was known to spout off at the mouth. Then look at Gary Sheffield. This is separate and not equal. Look at how just being a certain color or race gets you a free pass to say anything.CLEAR example of media BIAS? How could Gary Sheffield get away with that RACIST remark?

ooooooooo boooooohooooo, so I guess now all of you fools are going to blame this on all black people when it came out of one man's mouth, and NO this is not the CLEAREST example of media bias that I have seen this year, and why would you think Imus should have gotten away with what he said? If you want something done about what GS said then do something about it instead of trying to make it seem as if black people are being favored, when you know good and well the reason that Imus is gone was because people stood up to his old dumb azz---it's not our fault when other minorities don't do the same nor is it our fight!

this is bull.every one knows why he isn't in trouble,but white people have a guilt complex where we feel bad about what other white people did along time ago,so we we say';oh he didn't mean it like that';,or ';he always says stuff like that';.he should lose his job like Imus and white people who said something ';racist';.if a white guy says ';black people are easier to control';, he would have every on on his a**,but because the person that said it was a minority and the people he said it about are minority's it gets swept under the rug.add a white person into this equation anywhere and it is a whole different ball game.every one figures Hispanics are to dumb to be offended by this which is why he knew he could say it without getting in trouble
Since I don't follow baseball, I didn't know about this sht, but I read the comment and an extremely offended (I'm Hispanic).


I've dealt with blacks all my life, and they are the most controlled group in this country. It APPEARS to him that Hispanics are easy to control because we tend to be resilient and fatalist, but blacks are very easy to keep happy: just give them food, basketball courts, gov't hand-outs and voila! - they behave.


Hispanics come to this country dirt poor and we're already surpassing them.
I didn't see it so I don't know if it's true, but I do love tall dark handsome Latino men who have good brains, fit and god-fearing.

As long as they aint white they wont be labeled racist. Thats the way it is. Colored people and latinos are slow and dont care like that as long as its their own.

I agree with what your saying 100%. Blacks get away with racists remarks all the time, thats just the way its is. The media is biased and they have been for a long time. I could mention something about blacks fried chicken and watermelon and everyone would start saying I'm a racist. Blacks get away with a lot because at one point in time they were owned by all of us caucasin folks.
Well one reason for this is definitely the fact that Hispanics dont have someone like Al Sharpton to get them all riled up. Also, I think that many hispanics concentrate more on their nationality being offended than the general term ';hispanic';, which is literally a generalization of many countries.





Regardless, I do agree with you to an extent. The world is just backwards sometimes.
