Hi there, I don't have any experience in the media but have, I have been told, good diction and a clear, distinctive voice.
If I wanted to put these attributes to good use, how would I find work as something like a news reader? Thanks!Hi there, I don't have any experience in the media but have, I have been told, good diction and a clear, disti
Queen,
The old rule 5% talent, 95% hard work.
Best way to start out is in voice-over work.
* First and foremost, you have to be 110% confident in your ability to read WITHOUT ANY MISTAKES. By that I mean practice reading any text, news, novels, magazine articles etc into a tape/voice recorder. Then play yourself back to ensure that EVERY SINGLE WORD IS EXECTLY WAS IT IS WRITTEN, no ummm-ing and errr-ing.... solid fluid and accurate. Listen to it back and be hard on yourself - these guys have no time for little mistakes and will be hard on you!
Now the voice-over part. You will ned to find a local studio that will do a demo reel (or show reel) for you. This can set you back about 拢100 to 拢1000 depending on what you want in a finished product. You pay for what you get, but check out their web sites (use ';voice over studios';, ';show reels';, ';auditions'; etc). This is what you will use to sell yourself.
Then you best get an agent who knows the ropes and the whos-who. Studioes, radios and media companies get 100s of calls from people who say they have `talent` and have turned the `dont call us we'll call you` to a fine art.
You would be best to aim for a bit of work with regional radio stations, local advertising companies, corporate work. Little stuff to start with to get some reputation.Maybe if you land a bit of work, get yourself a decent web site promoting yourself.. 100's other do.
Dont forget the on-line media is also a good avenue and as it has lower audience, a bit cheaper for the producers.
** GOOD RESOURCE is Contacts 2007 for the UK - its the industry who's who for media, film and TV. Worth getting a copy - about 拢10-15 from most bookshops and Amazon.
Also, get one of those portfolio style black-and-white headshot photos - its an industry standard to promote yourself- (plenty of photographic studioes can help you out)
Oh, and PLENTY OF THICK SKIN. You'll go t oa bunch of auditions and maybe get a callback about 10% of the time....90 % NO - see... no easy. Very competitive, but the right voice and attitude can win.
Good luck.

How to clear the sync list in windows media player?
i am trying to add music to my moms mp3 player and this piece of crap program called windows media player wants to sync ever gosh darned thing and i can't figure out how to clear the sync list.
HelpHow to clear the sync list in windows media player?
You should have had a window pop up that asks you if you want to add files to it, or add them yourself later, or somthing stupid like that.....I don't know for sure, but I think you needed to check the last one, the one that said youd like to add files later...If I were you, I'd let window media player sit in the closet. If oyur able to use window media player to add songs to your mums MP3, chances are you have the drag and drop technquie avable to you (which is at least twenty times better then Media player). Open up 'My Computer' and then open up the MP3 player as a folder, and just drag and drop any music you want into the root folder of the MPs player (or into the music folder, if it has one). You should be able to find the music you want to add by right-clicking on the songs in Media Player and clicking on something that says something about finding it root folder or something like that.....or you can search your computer.
But, if I were you, I'd ditch media player.....and sorry if I wasn't too helpful....I have argument with iTunes, not Media player, so I don't know TOO much about it.....microsoft

How can i clear my digital camera media card?
The best and most efficient way is to 'format' your media/memory card.
Look in your camera's menu, for 'format'. Formatting is erasing/deleting ALL the images and information stored in your memory card. If you simply just, 'delete all images', all that does is remove your images/pictures. Also stored in your memory card, is information saved about each image taken, i.e. date, time, setting, histograph, etc. So just 'deleting images', does not remove the old information stored..and thus is still in your memory card taking up space.
So, when you've transferred all your images/pictures safely in your computer or a disc, make sure you 'format' your memory card in your camera. You don't need to delete the images and format. You can just format, and it will remove both the images and the stored information making your memory card free and clear for more pictures!
(Make sure you've saved all your pictures onto your computer as soon as you can. I've seen too many questions about how to recover accidently 'deleted' or 'formatted' images from their memory card. Don't store too many pictures on your card that haven't been saved elsewhere. But if you want to carry around pictures on your memory card/camera to have with you, at least transfer/make copies in your computer or cd disc.)How can i clear my digital camera media card?
Put it in the dishwasher, lol only kidding.
If you are working in an windows environment and your machine recognizes the card just click on the icons that you want gone and delete.

Media assignment - can somebody make this a bit more clear for me?
';choose four programmes that you feel have different target audiences and carry out some research into them. you can do this using the internet or any published media. then write a report comparing the programmes and their audiences';
the thing is I'm not sure what they mean with that it would be really helpful if somebody could elaberate for me.Media assignment - can somebody make this a bit more clear for me?
from the spelling of 'programmes' and the fact that you're on a media course, I would suggest that the assignment is referring to television programmes, not computer programs.
Its basically asking you to pick four unrelated tv shows, then show that you understand the differences and similarities between their demographics.
Why would you be asked to write a report on computer programs?
Everyone who buys photoshop buys it for image creation and manipulation, same as everyone who buys coda buys it for programming.
